Some people call this delicious snack "Puppy Chow," and I can't say that I blame them. The finished product looks a bit like the kibbles you'd pour into your dogs bowl. But these, unlike those dog biscuits, are delicious for real live, human people. That's right. You should feed these little buddies to your Homo sapiens friends. They're easy, tasty, and a perfect snack for long trips.
9 C Chex cereal
1 C semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 C peanut butter
1/4 C butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 C powdered sugar
To start, measure out 9 cups of Chex cereal into a big bowl. Heat the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter until they are melted enough to stir together. Mix them up in a small bowl, and then add vanilla. Pour that incredible mixture of chocolate, peanut butter, butter, and vanilla over the cereal and stir with a spoon until the Chex are coated uniformly.
Toss the chocolatey cereal into a Ziploc bag, and pour in the powdered sugar. Seal the bag, and shake it around until the cereal is covered and no longer stick. Toss that bag into the fridge and let things cool off until you're ready to consume. Your reward to time spent ratio won't get much higher than this tasty treat.
